Karen Chesney and Associates is an organization of successful industry professionals committed to defining a working paradigm  that will enable green technology to move forward in the building industry.  We recognize that most of our social issues are interrelated and are working towards systemic change, that will properly support the implementation of tools needed to define appropriate market strategies for the implementation of green technologies in an affordable and useful manner.

We are working with government, industry, the financial sector and municipalities to work towards identifying and negotiating innovative solutions and adaptational strategy for climate change and the subsequent solutions that our cities and towns will have to make in urban planning and building design.  It is solely funded by Karen Chesney Consulting, a consultancy firm with 20 years of experience in operations design and implementation and market research experience, recently, identifying significant opportunities in energy transition design and implementation.  We recognize that most of our global issues will require socially adaptive change and are prepared to assist in the social negotiation of those adaptations, through education and committment to impact effective change on all sectors required to produce policy and growth plans for our urban and rural centers on a regional basis.

We understand that both commercial and residential developers, as well as businesses and municipalities from all regions of the world need to be able to address the social implications of their choices, and need to be educated on rectifying the sources of social stress that previous choices have created in their new planning.  Karen Chesney Consulting and their strategic partnerships offer "one stop shopping"  consultation services that assist developers and municipalities with the social contract of their planning choices.

Karen Chesney and Associates was formed in response to lack of quantifiable and proven market research in the field of green technology.  It became obvious to me early last year that there was an upsurge in green technology, and we decided now is the time to study it.  We spent the better part of a year developing the CETTS 2009 survey, a device that is designed to assist us to study the performance of green technologies over a twenty year period, to define consumer satisfaction and Return on Investment data on green technologies built into new builds.

I began working with a number of builders both  large and small to identify the technologies to be tracked as they would hit the market.  In many areas of the world, the building industry is evolving to meet changing social priorities and market expectations of the world.  Some of the results of these changes are consumer marketing tools like labeling programs and consumer groups focussed on the green technologies implemented in the property.  Government actions, such as  incentives and legislation enforcing home ownership accountability are creating  significant movement towards market change.   The socio-political, ethical, and financial implications of these changes have left  builders, renovators and consumers with a market quagmire that is virtually impossible to navigate without appropriate market tools to make their development plans viable.

We are currently working on devising the Retrofit version of our study and hope to launch in 2Q 2012

Quantifiable market research on the implementation of green technology and the development of several marketing tools will assist the building industry, green manufacturers, consumers and labeling programs to better define their product and navigate thechnologieseir market more successfully.

These tools will help manufacturers identify and develop their opportunities with far more intelligence during an inconsistent market.
There are very few quantifiable tools available to the builder at this time. Although many resources exist to assist the builder in building green, marketing green technology is still a significant problem.  Much of this problem is consumer or market driven.

I have been working for a year on  research and strategic marketing models which identifiy in detail the specifications of the building, the financials  attached to it, and tracking  the build’s market life from build to demo, identifying both its short term and long term ROI.  We are pleased to announce that less than 6 months into the project we haver had several green labelled homes registered for long term assessment.  This web site is designed to assist builders and contractors to design, educate and maneuver the "GREEN" market as they learn from each other and the various tools that we offer builders world wide.

Karen has a long history of activism and is taking every opportunity to investigate what we can offer for the rebuild of Haiti.  Karen has actively been  involved in introducing green technology to many areas in Africa.  Along with many others we are investigating opportunities where we can be of help in Haiti.  We believe that while Haiti is rebuilding is the perfect time to assist in the implementation of a green infrastructure.  Anyone who wishes to engage with us  in this endeavor is more than welcome to have the discussion with Karen directly.  Please contact her with your ideas.

When I first started working in Ethiopia many years ago, the original version of this song gave us the funds to continue our work.  Haiti now faces a similar fate and I hope that the same result happens.  Click here to see We Are The World 25.  May it bless Haiti as the original version did.
